Lauren began her dog training journey at just eight years old when she and her family brought their Boston Terrier, Dora, to classes at Dogtrain. These nights quickly became her favorite night of the week.
Through school, Lauren played the French Horn, majoring in Music Performance at UNCW. Unfortunately, in her Junior year of college, she was diagnosed with TMJ, which ended her musical career. At the same time, her family acquired their next dog, another Boston named Gus, and Lauren was reacquainted with her interest in dog training class. In late 2015, Diane offered Lauren the opportunity to intern at Dogtrain to advance her skills in dog handling and behavior.
In 2016, Lauren began working with Diane both in the field and in classes and play times at Dogtrain on a regular basis and began teaching classes three years later.
Lauren's main passions in her own dogs are Hunt Tests and Competitive Obedience/Rally. Several students that started out with hopes of a well mannered dog have learned of the fun and excitement of trialing their dogs through watching Lauren and her dogs Slyde and Givens, and hearing tales of fortune and misfortune while at trials.
